As a part of the welcome activities for the second semester of 2024, a successful discussion \u201cCare as a Promise and Training Principle\u201d took place. This event was attended by first-semester students from various undergraduate programs. The discussion was moderated by Iv\u00e1n Camilo Aguilar, member of the Rector’s Working Group, with the participation of Piedad Ortega, UPN professor and popular education activist, Carolina P\u00e9rez, assistant director of University Welfare, and Laura Duplat, professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

In the Sim\u00f3n Rodr\u00edguez Multifunctional Auditorium, various topics were discussed related to educational challenges from different social and political contexts, which concern the reality of teachers who are educating today’s generations. It is important to emphasize that the meeting focused on understanding the concept of care as a task in which everyone plays a role, recognizing its relevance in every community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carolina P\u00e9rez, one of the panelists, mentioned, \u201cAddressing care on the welcome agenda and discussing dynamic situations and realities that intersect with university life is crucial because it gives the issue a place on the university’s social agenda.\u201d
The aim was to discuss and reflect on problematic situations affecting individuals, including those that cause discomfort in private and collective settings.
Carolina P\u00e9rez, one of the panelists, said, \u201cPutting care on the welcome agenda and discussing the dynamic situations and realities that intersect with university life is crucial because it gives the issue a place on the social agenda of the university.\u201d The aim was to discuss and reflect on challenging situations that affect individuals, including those that cause discomfort in both private and collective settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her turn, Piedad Ortega welcomed this time and explained that the challenging situations mentioned since the first day of our university life concern to the questions asked about reality, i.e. about what happens on a daily basis, what happens to each person and everyone, which has to do with what makes us uncomfortable during our days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Piedad Ortega, for her part, welcomed this time and explained that the challenges we have been facing since the first day of classes have to do with the realities of our daily lives, that is, what happens to us every day, what happens to each person and to everyone who has to do with what makes us feel uncomfortable during our day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, it was an opportunity for all those involved in university life to talk about a common agenda, not only from an institutional point of view, but also from the dynamics of the students and groups themselves, based on a sense of responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n
